Reminds me Foreign Motors (the OLD Foreign Motors) when they used to be in the middle of Towson, MD.
When I moved to South Baltimore in the summer of 1980 (which doesn't sound that long ago until I start counting the decades), the old VW Distributor/Dealership was just down on the corner of Light Street. It was abandoned (as was much of "SoBo" at that time), but you could still read the name painted on the white brick wall. I think it was Hobelmann, but I could be wrong.
